If you have thoughts about how Great Expectations could work better for you, Suzie Antal wants to hear them. Suzie is the new senior product manager for GX OSS, and we’re delighted to have her experience helping to guide GX’s core platform, integrations, and usability work.
With experience as both a product manager and a data scientist at several analytics startups, Suzie is keenly aware of the need for data quality, which is one reason that GX felt like a natural next step for her.
Although this is her first professional role focused on a Python product, Suzie has been very familiar with Python for a long time: her alma mater, the University of Amsterdam, is on the campus where Python was designed, so it was the language of choice for most of her classes.
With her move into open source, she’s particularly looking forward to engaging with the passionate community that comprises users of the GX platform.
“I love interacting with developer communities and events,” Suzie said. “I’m excited to get to know and collaborate with GX’s community and to contribute to a product that I myself would use for data science projects.”
Currently, she’s diving into the GX codebase (in dark mode) and driving GX OSS’s future plans (in light mode) as she learns more about the use cases and pain points of our users. And she’s already thinking about how GX could help with her personal data projects, too.
“One day I’d especially like to work on an Expectation Suite for a scientific domain,” she said. “I have a couple of Custom Expectations in mind.”
Suzie lives in Miami, after a temporary pandemic move turned permanent. When not working on GX or her personal data projects, she enjoys hosting dinner parties for her friends and playing tennis.
