GX Cloud now has email alerts!

When any Expectation is failed during a validation run, users who have alerts enabled for the validated Data Asset receive an email. It’s as simple as that!

How do I start getting email alerts?

For Data Assets that someone else created, or that you created before September 5, 2024, you just need to open the “Expectations” or “Validations” tab, click the “Alerts” button, and use the toggle to enable the alert.

For Data Assets that you create after September 5, 2024, email alerts are enabled automatically for you. They are not auto-enabled for anyone except the Data Asset creator.

How do I control my email alerts?

A simple on-off toggle makes it easy for you to update your email alert settings whenever you want.

Changes to your email alert configuration are applied immediately.

Email alerts are configured on a per-account basis: only you can make changes to your email alerts, and you can only make changes to your own email alerts.

What does the email alert look like?

It looks like this:

In addition to the organization name, Data Asset name, number of Expectations failed, and timestamp of the validation run where the failures occurred, there’s also a link to view the results and to change your alert settings for the Data Asset.

All email alerts are sent by support@greatexpectations.io. To ensure that your alert emails reach your inbox, we recommend whitelisting this email address.
