We’re excited to welcome Susan Jensen to Great Expectations as an analytics engineer!
Susan will be working to help deliver the analytics and insights that the GX team needs to keep building products that people love. She’s spent her career working with data, analytics, and reporting, most recently at Oracle.
While bringing her analytics know-how to GX, she’s looking forward to the change of pace from her previous position. “I was excited at the idea of joining a smaller company where I could actually get to know most people and understand a bit about what they do,” she said. “I’m also really excited to work on a greenfield analytics architecture with complex user behavior data. It can be quite challenging to figure out what users are doing with SaaS products and services and what they might do next!”
Susan has several years of experience in remote work, and one of the things that drew her to GX was its culture around remote work. “I love the value work out loud,” she said. “I’m looking forward to being part of a team that really keeps connected, is diligent about meeting and keeping each other updated, even down to giving each other ‘waves’ at the end of the day.”
Work out loud also fits well with Susan’s personal value of clarity always. That value isn’t just about delivering clarifying analytics, she said: “It means always acknowledging a ping from someone, respecting their time and making sure we understand each other, having defined goals for my jobs and my day, and even staying tidy on my desktop.”
Susan is based in Corvallis, Oregon, where she lives with her husband and two cats. At work, she can be found using light mode to pursue her quest for clarity. Outside of work, she enjoys reading.
